COVID is a real threat to people. We take this seriously and have adjusted our distribution process to ensure safe measures are followed. These are difficult and unprecedented times we entered into during 2020 and are now affecting 2021. Many things are different than what we had envisioned in the beginning of 2020. We have set up operations to accommodate a safe meal service, following NYS guidelines, while also maintaining our mission to provide free, nutritious meals served with dignity.

A health check is conducted for each volunteer at the beginning of their shift.

Because of the recent upward trend in COVID cases, everyone must wear a mask during meal preparation and meal distribution.

We wash our hands often, sanitize often and wear gloves when handling food. We change gloves often.

We sanitize all surfaces before use and after use. This includes surfaces utilized for meal preparation, transport containers, and the surfaces meals are placed on for distribution.

All meals are packaged and served “to go” in clean styrofoam, plastic, paper or foil containers. All bags utilized for distribution of the meal are new and unused.

Patrons do not enter our facility. Instead we deliver the meals to meal distribution points within the Cayuga County area. Individuals and families may learn of these meal distribution points on our Facebook page or Instagram page. Lines are formed and we respectfully ask that people wear masks and stand in a socially distanced fashion, 6 feet apart from the patron in front of them.
